Disc
Ode and Max travel to a remote forest in the Scottish wilderness to escape work and technology. The couple set up camp but their peace is disrupted by the arrival of ex-con Conrad, carrying only a ghetto-blaster and a case of beer. Suddenly there's an earth-shaking crash - a burning disc lands and the three have to pull together to put out the flames. Questions about the disc become entangled with questions about each other; motives, survival and morality. The disc cools and the oppressive atmosphere in the forest increases - they descend into paranoia and suspicion. Finally, it becomes apparent that they can read each other’s minds. And an overwhelming and unbearable cacophony of voices descend upon them. Ode and Max leave the forest transformed, with their eyes open but heading in different directions. |
